There are certain vegetables that dieticians recommend that you try to add to your diet so that you get the recommended amount of antioxidants. Each vegetable has its own qualities that make it a disease and illness fighter. For example leafy green vegetables are known for having high amounts of vitamin E, while peppers and tomatoes are known for being high in vitamin C.
It is believed that these certain vegetables are able to help the body because it gives the body certain disease fighting compounds which help it fight certain illnesses and diseases. Vegetables are also believed to have a high amount of antioxidants and components that fight free radicals which are known to damage the body’s cells.
If you do not like some of the listed vegetables then you should be aware of the fact that there are dozens of other vegetables that you can choose from. Experts recommend that you try to add at least five servings of vegetables a week and slowly up the amount that you eat over time.
